Companion Animal Care

I cannot recommend Companion Animal Care based on my experience. I brought in an abandoned kitten for a fecal test and a basic exam. Instead, my kitten was taken to the back, where multiple procedures were performed without my knowledge or consent. The reason I brought her in—a fecal test—was never completed, yet I was charged $180 for services I did not request or approve. During the visit, a topical flea treatment was applied without my permission, along with other treatments I was never authorize nor discussed. When the veterinarian spoke with me afterward, I was told my kitten “just needed groceries” and would be okay. Only four hours after leaving the clinic, my kitten began foaming at the mouth and tragically passed away. While I cannot say what caused her death, the timing made the experience absolutely devastating. When I called the clinic to discuss what had happened, I also raised concerns about the unauthorized procedures and charges. I was told I would receive a refund and that the office manager would contact me. After waiting two weeks and making multiple phone calls, I finally reached someone who informed me that the refund had been denied. I was also unable to speak with the veterinarian I requested despite repeated attempts. My biggest concern is the lack of informed consent, communication, and accountability. No veterinary office should perform treatments or procedures without first obtaining the owner’s approval. Pet owners deserve to know exactly what is being done to their animals before it happens. This experience ended with the loss of my kitten and a great deal of heartbreak. I hope this review encourages the clinic to improve its communication, consent practices, and customer care so that no other family has to experience what I did

Always great service, they also take the time to walk you through all options for your dogs situation.

We had our 1st appointment at Companion Animal Care with Dr Buxton yesterday. . After going to the same “very well know “veterinary clinic for the past 9 years, to say I was nervous is an understatement. My fur-child Tinsley is my ENTIRE WORLD! Tinsley has had some medical issues going on for the past 3-4 months that the previous vet was unable to diagnose or treat after numerous visits. When we arrived at Companion Animal Care we were greeted immediately by the front desk and taken back to an exam room with in minutes. As soon as we were in the exam room everything became about Tinsley Dr. Burton’s assistant Cassie was AMAZING! She saw how scared Tinsley was and immediately sat on the floor at Tinsley level to comfort and love on her until Tinsley was at ease and no longer trembling with fear and anxiety. Cassie did a very detailed history along with Tinsley’s current issues that were going. After a few minutes Dr.Buxton came in introduced herself and immediately focused on Tinsley. She sat on the floor beside Tinsley at her level She gave the most thorough examination Tinsley has ever had. During the examination, she talked to me and explained everything she was doing and why she was doing it. Dr.Buxton’s knowledge and bedside manner is unmatched by any other . Tinsley know has a diagnosis and a treatment regimen to help her get back to her healthy self again. There are not enough words to express how thankful I am for Dr Buxton and for her assistant Cassie. I cannot recommend them enough for your fur-child’s Care! I am so thankful we found them and Tinsley is a patient of hers. I know Tinsley is in good hands and will receive the extraordinary care she deserves! Sincerely, Carrie “Tinsley’s Mom” ❤️🐾❤️
